Michaels is one of my favorite stores. As someone who loves to make jewelry and DIY projects I’m always stocking up on supplies there. During a recent visit I came across these adorable paper flowers in the dollar bin. What I was going to do with them I wasn’t sure but I had to have them. A few bins down were these small scalloped metal pails and an idea formed in my head, hot glue the flowers to the pail for a mini spring basket. Any excuse to break out the glue gun always works for me and since all the materials come from the dollar bins the whole project costs less than five dollars. A quick and super easy way to add a little pop of spring to your decor. This is perfect for a small Easter basket or Mother’s Day gift.
These are the paper flowers. The packages from Michaels come in colors so the pink package includes the solid pink and polka dot pink and the blue includes the solid blue and polka dot blue.
Close up of the flower, there is so much detail in these little flowers that you can’t resist using them for a project.
Heat up your glue gun and make sure the glue is hot enough so that the flowers will stick to the pail better.
Add a little bit of glue to the back of the flower and then adhere the flower to the pail. Hold the flower for a few seconds to set the glue.
Once the tops of the flowers are set add a little drop of glue to the bottom of the stem and press and hold in place for a few seconds.
