Summer may officially be over, but that doesn’t mean the flower posts have to stop. I do love autumn and while I can’t wait to share some autumn posts that include DIY projects, recipes and all things pumpkins, there are still flowers in bloom so we can’t say goodbye to those just yet.
Old Westbury Gardens is one of my favorite places to visit with my camera on Long Island. Every part of the property is beautiful but my absolute favorite place on the grounds is the Walled Garden. Beautiful iron gates are found at the three entrances to the brick two level garden. Once you step inside you are met with many different varieties of flowers and trees, fountains, a statue, a lotus pond and beautiful architecture in columns and stone steps. When I visited the garden in the spring, tulips and peonies were in bloom, on this visit the dahlias were in bloom. The water lilies were also blooming in the lotus pond on this visit.
