When I visit Old Westbury Gardens, my first stop is my favorite place on the 100 acre property, the Walled Garden. Aside from an always changing variety of flowers growing in the garden every month it also boasts beautiful architecture from the brick cutouts along the walls, stone steps and columns, fountains, iron gates at it’s three entrances and so much more. I can spend hours just wandering around the two level garden and photographing everything.
On my recent visit the garden was filled with fall flowers from chrysanthemums, asters, dahlias, zinnias and more. I wasn’t expecting the garden to be filled with flowers since the seasons have changed and the weather is getting colder, but the Walled Garden in autumn is now my favorite time of the year to visit it.
