Spring in the Garden

No matter how many times I visit Old Westbury Gardens, it still amazes me how beautiful the garden is. I try to go at least once a month when it is open from April through October because almost every week there are different flowers in bloom in the Walled Garden.

April is all about the tulips and every color and variety you can imagine is on display. This time around I discovered the double peony tulips which because of their many petals resemble a peony and I think I have a new favorite tulip variety. It is also the perfect way to lead into May since during that time the peonies are the main attraction.

Old Westbury Gardens is definitely my happy place and I could definitely spend all day just walking around the Walled Garden and photographing every flower.

A double peony tulip which is tulip perfection in my opinion.
