When the roses start to bloom at Old Westbury Gardens, it is a magical time. In all my visits I’ve always gone too late in the season to see the roses in full bloom until my visit last week.
One of my favorite spots at Old Westbury Gardens is the Primrose Path, a brick walkway covered with tree branches on the sides and above with leaves growing around that leads to the circled rose garden. With the roses growing and wrapping around the branches I honestly could’ve just stood on the pathway photographing for the whole day.
There are so many different varieties of roses on display that it is hard to pick a favorite kind.

roses are always beautiful
Absolutely beautiful.
Beautiful photos of some really lovely roses, do you know if any of the pink roses on the pergolas are the variety, Dorothy Perkins?
Thanks, I don’t know if the roses are Dorothy Perkins. Usually the flowers have a sign on them stating the variety but this time they did not.
