My favorite time of the year is here, the dahlias are starting to bloom! The other day I visited my favorite spot, the dahlia garden at Eisenhower Park. Maybe it is the ridiculous heat that we have had this summer or the lack of rain, but the garden which is usually half full of flowers at this point of the summer only had a few dahlias growing. The plants are at a quarter size of what they usually are, but I’m hoping that means that come the fall the dahlias will be hanging around longer than they normally do. Regardless, there were still some beauties to photograph and I’ll keep checking back every week to catch the ones that were just starting to bud.
