Underneath the Cherry Trees

Does cherry blossom season really have to end? For some reason I only go to Planting Fields Arboretum in the winter when I need a dose of flowers in the camellia greenhouse, but I decided the other day to actually visit the grounds in the spring, and it did not disappoint. There were so many different varieties of cherry trees to see, I had no problem staying there all day to photograph. The weeping cherry tree is my new favorite variety, they are as pretty as they are dramatic.

Cherry blossoms are the best! I also wish they weren’t so fleeting. I was lucky to visit Japan this year during part of their cherry blossom season and it was so beautiful. Next year I’m making it a point to see if there are any local spots here in CA.
