Weekly Photo Challenge: Friend

Turtles at Clark Botanic Garden in Albertson, NY. Photo by Alyson Goodman.
You can visit a place so many times with the hopes of catching something to photograph and never see it. Then, when you least expect it, the subject you keep missing shows up!

In the many times that I have visited Clark Botanic Gardens and wandered back and forth around the pond that sits on the property in hopes of seeing some turtles I was told live in the pond, I had no luck finding them. Then, a few weeks ago on the lookout for bleeding hearts to photograph, I found myself walking the path I normally do, around the pond to get to where the bleeding hearts usually are and sure enough two turtles were just hanging out on one of the pond’s elevated features. I basically gave up on ever photographing the turtles there, but these two friends decided to bask in the sunlight of the day.

  1. How lovely! It’s interesting how many of us selected animals for this week’s challenge… 🙂

Thanks! I think most minds wandered to animals because they make excellent friends.
