Dahlias are one of my favorite flowers, so I’m always searching for new places to photograph them at. I had never been able to find the dahlia garden at Planting Fields so I wasn’t completely sure if it existed. Thanks to the beautiful summer weather we have been having, I figured it was the perfect opportunity to spend the day at Planting Fields and find the elusive garden.
Tucked behind the main greenhouse and on a path I never ventured before, I finally found the dahlia garden and it was well worth the wait. Row after row of many dahlia varieties are on display and I picked one of the best times to visit since most were blooming.
I’m planning on heading back to Planting Fields in a few weeks once autumn begins and I’m hoping the dahlia garden will still be in bloom so I can capture some more photographs. The dahlia garden here is definitely one of my new favorites, though I still love my secret spot at Eisenhower Park.
