Weekly Photo Challenge: Growth

Dahlia at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, NY. Photo by Alyson Goodman.

Winter storm Grayson has hit and the weather outside is frightful! The snow has been falling since early this morning and has not stopped yet and the wind is blowing it all over the place. Thankfully, I have a snow day from work so I can watch the snow fall from the comfort of my couch.

Cold days always have me thinking about warmer days touring my favorite gardens. With the theme for the weekly photo challenge being growth, I wanted to share one of my all-time favorite photos. I took this photo of a dahlia starting to open and grow into it’s full size and looking at it automatically transports me back to the summer.

Wherever you are, I hope you are warm and if you are stuck in Grayson’s path, I hope you are staying safe. Just remember, there are only 74 days until spring!

Gorgeous. I feel like I can touch it and smell it.
