An Autumn Day at Planting Fields Arboretum

A few days ago, I spent a quiet weekday morning at Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay, NY and I practically had the whole place to myself. Autumn is my preferred time to visit my favorite garden spots because you still get the flowers in bloom with the backdrop of the leaves starting to change. On this trip, the leaves really hadn’t started to change yet aside from a few rogue trees, but the butterflies were out in full force. I’ll take photographing a butterfly perched on a flower over a changing leaf any day!
