Wednesday Wisdom

I received this quote in an email the other day and it came at such an appropriate time for me. I struggle with always doing what others expect you to do and not taking the time to really stop and think what do I want to do?

For a few weeks I had been debating in my head a program I signed up to do through work that in some ways would help me out in the long run, but that I also knew was not the right fit for me in where I am in my career. But since I had already committed to it and everyone kept telling me to do it, I figured I could find a way to quiet the voice that kept telling me it wasn’t the right move. You can only keep that voice quiet for so long and finally I decided to back out of the program knowing that there would be people who would be disappointed in my decision. I realized that at the end of the day, I had to make the decision that was best for me and the next day this quote showed up in my inbox. It helped me at a time when I really needed it, so I’m passing it along and maybe it’ll help someone else.
